The High-Rock Fraction
Species: Leopards & Jaguars & Cheetahs & any mixture thereof
Allies: Wolves (Leopards and Jaguars)
Enemies: All
Special Skills:
Jaguars and Leopards are versed linguists and speak most of the languages of Eden.
Cheetahs are almost as well adapted to the Wasteland as the Hyenas making them expert hunters that rarely come home empty pawed
Language: Ro’do*, Dumi, Ongota (Jaguars & Leopards) Dumi (Cheetahs) & Liaki (All)
Though small in size the creatures of the High-Rock fraction make up for it in numbers. Jaguars and Leopard had always been plentiful and kits are a common sight nearly near-round. The Cheetahs however had never been so lucky. Being at constant battle with the wolves they suffered great losses and with the recent poisoning of their water source many died.
The High-Rock Fractions is often considered to be the coward’s fraction due to their inheritantly non-violent nature. In most squabbles they are neutral not siding with either of the other Fractions leaving them to settle their problems by themselves. They find the other groups to be the two extremes (too spiritual and not spiritual enough) A fierce love of family and friends hold this group together. The Cheetahs were welcome to the High-Rocks with open paws and aren’t made to feel an different than any other Fraction-Member. The High-Rock Fraction is the only one with two leaders. Rayoto, the leader of the Jaguars and Leopards, and the leader of the Cheetah Clan. Both leaders work together.
The leopards and jaguars though small in size are large in number. Their fractions numbers were strengthened when the Cheetahs joined their ranks. They live in the High-Rock sector, large boulders surround their green-space. A high wall keeps out the raging sands of the Wasteland. The High-Rock camp is only accessible through a series of ladders high above the ground. They are often neutral in fights and prefer to let the other fractions settle their squabbles by themselves. A fierce love of family drives this fraction.
*The language of the Jaguars and Leopards, Ro’do, is very related to that of the wolves due to a 100 year peace treaty between the two groups in previous years (no longer standing). They could understand one another while speaking their own language though much of the meaning may be lost.*
The Ember Pond Fraction
Species: Tigers and Lions & any mixture thereof
Allies: None
Enemies: All
Special Skills:
Tigers are referred to as the protectors or Eden and they hold a special connection to the earth and can cure any ailment through the use of the plants that grow in the garden.
Lions possess the best eyesight out of all the creatures of Eden. They are very adapt to night-hunting not bothered by the dark or but the bitter cold winds.
Language: Ongota (All) & Liaki (All)
The few remaining Tigers and Lions of the land forged a great bond with one another long ago. They take up residence in Ember Pond. The Ember Pond fraction is the smallest fraction in membership. There are only a few Lions and Tigers left in Eden due in part to their ferocious appetite. The birth of cubs is limited only one allowed each season as per the rules set forth by the other fractions. Any cubs born beyond the single allowed number are to be left in the Wasteland during the hottest peak of the day. However, this doesn’t happen and cubs are often raised in secret.
This fraction prides themselves in family and their young. Cubs are sent to “Cub School” from a young age where the learn the ways of the land, how to use the plants from the garden and how to hunt and fight. The history of Eden is also taught it cub school though it’s a one-sided history and the Dim Sands fraction is blamed for all their troubles. The Ember Pond fraction holds a deep belief that the Forest of Eden must be protected under all costs. Deeply spiritual they have hatred abound for the Dim Sands fraction that hunt in their beloved forest.
Ember Pond is Eden’s trading post and the marketplace is usually alive with creatures from all fractions. Medicinal herbs and powders, sake, meat, fish and just about anything can be traded for here. The creature of Ember Pond enjoy having the market in their fraction as it is a time of peace and they can usually gain valuable information on the weak points of other fraction.
The Dim Sands Fraction
Species: Hyenas and Wolves & any mixture thereof
Allies: Jaguars & Leopards (Wolves)
Enemies: All
Special Skills:
The Hyenas are capable of living in the Wasteland and only the youngest members are bothered by the daily sandstorms.
The wolves are considered the top of the Medic-chain and are well versed in the use of poisons.
Language: Nierep(Hyenas) Lsi Rai* (Wolves) & Liaki (All)
The Dim Sands is a newly combined Fraction. The wolves (previously known as the Dim World Fraction) joined the Hyenas in their encampment (Tall Sands) after theirs was overtaken by the dessert. The combined group (Dim Sands) isn’t one of understanding but one of necessity. The Hyenas hope to make use of the Wolves Medicinal skills to bring the other fractions to their knees though their plan may not come to fruition as the wolves aren’t nearly as bloodthirsty as the Hyenas of Eden seem to be.
A fierce understanding of teamwork drives both the Hyenas and the Wolves, neither are inclined to ever leave a fraction member behind and not that the two fractions are one they do the best they can to watch out for one another. Neither of the species cares much about the other fractions and is a mostly inward folk. Though kind and loving to their fraction members they are strictly suspicious and distrustful of outsiders. The Hyenas and just as hard-headed and stubborn and this can easily be demonstrated in that when the two fractions combined that the leader of the Hyenas ruled over both species.
The wolves are a bit more kind and gentle than the Hyenas and some of them have ever befriended members of the High-Rocks fraction. (strictly forbidden so it’s kept secret) They feel very unwelcome in camp and this feeling is only furthered in that the Hyenas have started building a new camp in the middle of the Wasteland. The wolves fear that the Hyenas intend to rule the Waste and their fears are likely justified.
